Privacy by design,
enforced by iOS.
OMO Kids is engineered to minimize child data collection. We use learning and device data for app functionality and do not sell it or use it for tracking.
Zero-Knowledge Data Architecture
OMO does not collect or transmit your child's web history, names of blocked apps, or online communications. OMO servers store only the learning progress, reports, device/session records, and subscription data needed to run the product.
Built with Apple ScreenTime API
We leverage official Apple framework integrations (FamilyControls and ManagedSettings). Apple handles permissions and enforces boundaries directly at the iOS system level, guaranteeing the sandbox can't be bypassed.
No Account Required for Children
Only parents create an account to configure profiles. Child profiles are local entities labeled with nickname placeholders and ages—never true names, birthdays, or emails.
Apple API Technical Standard
OMO utilizes Apple's proprietary framework, **ManagedSettings** and **DeviceActivity**. Here is exactly how we interface with iOS:
- Tokenized Shielding: We block applications using tokenized identifiers provided by iOS. OMO never reads the true bundle ID or name of blocked apps.
- On-Device Monitoring: Screen time tracking and session updates are processed entirely on-device by iOS system services. We store zero activity logs.
- Encrypted Configurations: Any schedules or rules you define are synchronized via secure parent channels and written directly to your child's local Apple Managed Settings database.
